Sandy Springs Toastmasters July 22, 2021, Meeting Recap and Roles for August 12, 2021

Sandy Springs Toastmasters met at 7 a.m. on Zoom with 9 members and 2 guests (David and Shannon Kraiger - Area Director) present. 

The president, Morgan opened the meeting, introduced the Toastmaster of the day, Apoorva Salimath-Kalasuramath. He handed over to our Sergeant at Arms, Bud Otto who opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.  

The Toastmaster welcomed our guests, David and Shannon to the meeting. They introduced themselves to the group. David was attracted by our meeting times and Shannon was joining the meeting in her capacity as the new Area Director. 

The toastmaster went over the roles for the day and confirmed the anchors for the various roles.

  • John Ross led the Table Topics - Una was the Table Topics winner
  • Bud Otto gave the word of the day, "Zonk" which means fall or cause to fall suddenly and heavily asleep or lose consciousness.
  • Apoorva Salimath-Kalasuramath gave the joke of the day.
  • Foluso presented a speech on “The Significance of Passive Income”.  Bud Otto evaluated the speech. - Foluso won the best speech and Bud Otto won the best evaluator
