Jim Owen served as Sergeant at Arms since Bud Otto was not
present. Vice President of Education, Andy Kallenberg began the meeting. Andy updated
the group on several key topics: makeup sessions for Officer training, how we can
achieve Distinguished Club Program (DCP) status, and upcoming
competitions.
Our Area Director visited us and also shared information about
upcoming contests. The International Speech contests begin at the end of February.
You must have achieved Level 2 in Pathways to participate. Member, Jimmy Sidol
is interested in representing us in this contest and worked with Andy after the
meeting to ensure he is on track.

We are District 44 and Area C36.
Also in attendance was one of our Past Presidents, Alan Magee, who
served two years in the role. Alan recommitted to regular attendance to
Toastmasters despite his hectic work and travel schedule.
Andy also served as Toastmaster and reviewed the roles for the day.
Table Topics Master, Jim Owen, provided the group with questions from a book he
was reading about “refiring” your life, emotionally, intellectually and
spiritually. Heartfelt answers were heard from every member. Questions included,
What can you do to let others know you
care about them?, What will you do to
get out of your comfort zone? and Tell
us about a set back and how you dealt with it? Steve Bragg won for Best
Table Topic response.
