April 18, 2019 Meeting Recap and Role Assignments for April 25
Sergeant-at-arms, Bud Otto called the meeting to order at 7:00 AM. We had a great crowd: ten stellar members were in attendance.

Paige Kerr made opening remarks commenting on the opportunities that Toastmasters affords including mentorship, particularly with such a diverse and interesting group of individuals.

Una Richards, our Vice President of Education served as Toastmaster of the Day and assigned all the remaining roles. Una also highlighted our club status which is President’s Distinguished! We met all 9 goals for this top status!  Una underscored Paige’s message and also encouraged us to continue to stretch!

Etsehiwot Ezra gave the joke of the day. Magdalena Raj gave the word of the day: sesquipedalian meaning polysyllabic or long.

Stasia Pass served as Table Topics Master for the day. Stasia’s theme was “If”. She provided a number of thought provoking questions such as: If you were rich, how would you spend your time? If you could be any creature for a week, what would you be? If you could perform a miracle, what would it be? Bud won for his answer to the question: If you were famous, who would be the star of your movie? Bud’s hilarious answer was Danny DeVito in a movie called Budman!

After the break, Magdalena Raj gave an impromptu speech called: Leaders and Leadership – Where do we find our leaders? Magdalena focused on the fundamentals of human connection, purpose and integrity that lead to trust making these key elements of great leaders. To find them, she asked us to look to our left and to our right – we are all leaders when we understand and employ these fundamentals. First time evaluator, Andy Kallenberg gave his critique on Magdalena’s content, construction and delivery.  Andy asked Paige to evaluate his evaluation since in Toastmasters contests, evaluators participate in contests as well and are also provided with feedback.

Una reviewed the roles for next week.
