Sergeant-at-Arms, Bud Otto called the meeting to order and also
served as Toastmaster for today’s meeting.
President, Una Richards, reported that she had recently learned
that Sandy Springs Toastmasters has been going for 45 years! To
commemorate our longevity, she suggested that we have some special function to
celebrate our milestone. Una will work on a special meeting to
celebrate, and details will follow.
Vice President of Education, Andy Kallenberg gave us the joke of
the day…a joke about toilet paper. (You had to be there).
Steve Bragg provided the word of the day: Ineluctable which means
unavoidable.
Magdalena Raj served as timer/vote counter and Una filled the
role of grammarian
Una then led us in Table Topics with questions Magdalena
won best Table Topics when answering the question, “Does Absence Make the
Heart Grow Fonder?”
Jimmy Sidol used the word of the day in the title of his
speech, “The Ineluctable Language” in which he spoke on music that
brings people together, makes plants happier and raises our endorphin
levels.
Andy was our second speaker and provided us with a public
service announcement on having safe sex.
Andy won Best Speaker.
Crystal and Magdalena gave insightful feedback to the speakers
in the evaluation portion of the meeting.
Magdalena won Best Evaluator.
