6/14 recap:

Our TM, Jim Owen, called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. He then gave us a brief but interesting history lesson on our nation's first Father's Day. He told us how Europe has been celebrating the day, on March 19th, since the middle ages but the US didn't start celebrating it until the year 1972.

Our new president, Paige Kerr, took the stage and went through the schedule of the day. She announced that we will not be having a Toastmasters meeting on July 5th. E Ezra gave us the Word of the Day, disneyfy!  Try  using that one!

Paige introduced our Table Topics Master of the day, Crystal Reeves. Crystal's theme for Table topics was "Three things". Her thought-provoking questions ranged from "If you were going on a long trip, what three foods would you experience most?" to "Who are your three celebrity crushes?". All the answers were entertaining but  Steve Bragg won Best TT for his response to "Tell us three things you would do if you were not afraid?".  Steve told us that he's tried just about everything - skydiving, motorcycling, driving race cars. You name it, he's done it. He has no fear and has tried it all but closed by saying the one thing that he would try if he could go back in time would be to storm the beaches of Normandy on D Day. Maybe.

Jim reviewed the schedule for the month.  As previously stated, we will not have a meeting on July 5 but will resume on July 12 when our new Officers will be installed. He then turned the meeting over to the General Evaluator, Paige Kerr.

Special recognition needs to be given to our newest member, Tom Mills.  He took on the Ti/V role for his first time and handled it like a pro!  Also need to give high fives to Bud Otto, our ever faithful Sergeant-At-Arms, a role that is often taken for granted.  Bud was out this week and everyone had to scramble to set up and clean up - a task he gets there early every single week to handle with ease.  Thank you Bud, Tom, and all of our great members!
