Sandy Springs 5-3 Toastmasters Meeting Recap & 5/10 Roles

Hello all:
Please review the following roles and confirm your availability for the May 10th meeting by replying to all.  Also, please think about what officer position in our club you would like to fill for 2018-19.  WE NEED YOU, forget about Uncle Sam!  Our elections will be June 7th and we will take nominations from the floor at any meeting up until June 7.   Our Sandy Springs Club will need to elect a President, Vice President of Education, Vice President of Membership and Secretary.  If Jim Owen, Bud Otto and Ralston Medouze are not interested in continuing their roles, then we will also need to nominate and elect members to fill their positions.  While role descriptions are available on the Toastmaster website, due to the unique needs of our club, we have tweaked our roles accordingly.  So, please review the website first but then do address your questions on roles to one of the current officers.

TT: Mitch Reiner

Scribe: Una Richards

It was a short but sweet meeting today since we only had Table Topics.  Bud Otto opened the meeting with our traditional Pledge of Allegiance and then introduced President, Anastasia Pass.  Anastasia asked everyone to consider an officer role they would like to do so that our club stays vibrant and afloat as several positions need to be filled.  She also reminded everyone to read the email that she distributed with Pathways info as well as read thru any Pathways information available on the TM website.  It will officially begin on May 15 although current  paid members will have 2 years to transition.   After Anastasia added a quick prayer for the country's unity as a part of the National Prayer Day, she turned the meeting over to TM, Paige Kerr.  David Kulze presented "Underpin" as our Word of the Day, followed by E Ezra's hunting joke.  Next, Steve Bragg led a Table Topics session using our Chat Pack and almost all of the members were stumped!  Guest, Gun-Deep Singh, won Best Table Topics.  Crystal Reeves, Ah/Grammarian, reported that overall, we did well on our limited usage of ah's, um's, you know's and so's!  There were no speakers so after reviewing the roles for May 10, the meeting was adjourned almost 30 minutes early!  Many thanks to all who pitched in and did a role!

Please remember to bring both your Competent Communicator and Competent Leader manuals to every meeting so we can sign off on your progress towards achieving your goals!!!!
