Sandy Springs 4-12 Toastmasters Mtg Recap

Hello fellow SS Toastmasters and Speak-Up visitors: Every week it seems we have a new challenge - this week it was Sandy Springs traffic!  Several members, including the President, were a bit late due to a stalled car on 285 exit ramp...But as always, all went well!  In the absence of our Sergeant-At-Arms, Bud Otto, (please come back soon!) Anastasia Pass started things albeit a teeny bit late with the Pledge of Allegiance, reviewed Pathways program, welcomed our guest and then turned things over to our well-prepared TM, David Kulze.
After giving major affirmations to our club for how much he values and looks forward to our meetings every week, David reviewed the roles.  Steve Bragg volunteered to give Word of the Day and Andrea Miranda stepped up to do Ah/Gr role.  That's another reason our club works so well...everyone willingly fills the gaps which makes each meeting flow smoothly.  Steve's word, autodidact, kept our thinking caps on as well as Anastasia's Joke about Ole and his 3 wishes from the magic genie.  You had to be there....
Colbi Ellison led Table Topics using a variety of intriguing questions from a newfound Toastmasters app.  Steve Bragg won Best Table Topics for his response to "what about yourself do you like the most".  After generating laughter quipping that his answer could take quite awhile, he said what he liked most was that he could stand before us and proudly say that one year after his prostate cancer diagnosis, he is a cancer survivor.  Bravo from all of us!!
Following a short but enjoyable social break our newest member, E Ezra, treated all of us to her Icebreaker (1st) speech, giving all of us a wonderful glimpse into her life.  Jim Owen gave her a glowing and encouraging evaluation.  Kudos to our sole speaker and evaluator.   See you next week! Please remember to bring you Communication and Leadership Manuals to every meeting!
